The New York-based dance and music company will give a total of four performances running March 6-8.

Throughout its global tour, Shen Yun has reestablished the monumental essence of traditional Chinese culture and dance and now returns to the great city of Chicago, a beacon city of culture, expression, and diversity.

“Delivering performances that are not only visually stunning, but entertaining and educational, Shen Yun continues to marvel its audiences with its great beauty,” proclaimed Chicago City Alderman William D. Burns, Alderman, 4th Ward. The work Shen Yun does “...continues to be a beacon of light and a valued resource that educates the masses on Chinese culture, history, and experiences.”

“The outstanding performers, dazzling costumes, excellent vocalists, thunderous drums, and spectacular backdrops is a fun and brilliant blend of beauty, energy, and grace,” proclaimed Dr. Gopal G. Lalmalani, Village of Oak Brook President. He believes the path they’ve chosen to follow will forever be marked by all the lives they have changed.

I hope they will continue to strive for excellence and continue their legacy of achievement and success.”

DiMaria Morton Grove Village President. “The Village of Morton Grove prides itself in its own cultural diversity and thereby extends our very best wishes to all during this performing season.”

“As Shen Yun enters its tenth full year touring, the company has presented more than 2,000 performances of classical Chinese dance showcasing story-based choreography spanning themes from 5,000 years of Chinese history all performed to music played on both Western and Chinese instruments,” said Mayor Brad Stephens of the Village of Rosemont. “That is a significant accomplishment for any performing arts group.”

“An important cultural event such as this is a perfect time to celebrate the arts and traditional Chinese culture,” stated William Q. Davis, Illinois State Representative of the 30th District of Illinois.

With so many words of encouragement from so many notable authorities, it’s no doubt that Shen Yun will once again bring traditional Chinese culture and dance to Chicago this year and add to the great city’s long heritage of honoring diversity and culture.
