Shen Yun’s Erhu Player Impresses Violinist

“It was fantastic, the orchestra, I liked it very much.”

“A lot of beautiful choreography, special clothes, and especially timing—it was very good—because I’m a musician myself. I used to sing in choirs, and I’m a violinist, …  I’ve sung in a lot of choirs since I was a child.”

”That little, I don’t know how you call it in Chinese— the violin, the little two string instrument [erhu]. I’m very happy to see it played.”

“The strings go right to my heart. I like strings because you make the music on the string. You don’t just press buttons. The string instruments—you have to find it with your fingers, the tone that you want to play, the tune. So it’s very difficult and I tried to do that.”
