VIENNA, Austria—Shen Yun Performing Arts gave its second show in Vienna at the Wiener Stadthalle on April 5. Both Chinese and locals in the audience were very impressed.

“I’m Chinese, and I wanted to see this show. I truly enjoyed it very much,” said Mr. Chang, a 29-year-old teacher of Chinese martial arts. He came from the mainland three years ago with his wife and children. After seeing the many placards promoting the show, he wanted to see the dancers’ “movements and jumps.” He was inspired by what he saw.

Another audience member, Ms. Ussner, was told by an acquaintance that she had to see second show. She is the head of a firm involved in the distribution of Austrian ethereal oils. The “divine beauty of the show” impressed her.

She said she “loved” the show and was quite touched. She pointed out that the performance Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution was especially significant.

In this dance, a father is persecuted for his belief in Falun Dafa, a spiritual practice that is currently facing human rights violations in China. It depicts a family that is torn apart as a result of the actions of the current Chinese regime,  but ultimately offers a message of hope.

“The artists truly depicted what they felt, there was an energy—I felt it. There was a pain I could feel. There was beauty and pain at the same time. I felt this during that scene deeply in my heart. When I saw that, I suddenly had tears in my eyes. One can’t stop that,” she said.

She was moved by the seemingly simple things, like the colors.

She said the show possesses “Divine beauty. I love colors. Now, I understand why I always feel so much better when I wear colorful clothes.

“Wonderful! I loved it. Wonderful! I’m glad that I am here,” she added.
