PASADENA, Calif.—New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts was embraced by the audience at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium with a warm standing ovation at the conclusion of the Friday evening performance, April 29.

Celebrating 5,000 years of majestic culture, the internationally acclaimed company has made an impression on Ann Klamer, an entertainment audio mixer for TV and film studios in Los Angeles, who has come to enjoy the show for a second time.

“This show gets an A+,” said Ms. Klamer. “Top of the line, excellent. The dancing is so wonderful. I love the dancing, and then I love the music—the live orchestra,” declares Ms. Klamer.

Shen Yun’s one-of-a-kind orchestra, with its all-original compositions, blends East and West like no other, according to the company’s website.

Ms. Klamer affirms, “I love it. … I could see the orchestra, and now I could appreciate them more when you can see them playing.”

She commented on other aspects of the show: “The costumes, and the ladies, they’re so beautiful, all of them. And the men are so light on their feet, and they dance really high.

“I like the backgrounds, the backdrops.“ She also praised the piano player, ” She’s really excellent.”

Ms. Klamer described the show’s hosts as an the informative aspect of Shen Yun. “I think it’s very, very helpful, and our narrator, the man, he also educates us. Because even though we know a lot about Chinese American people here in Los Angeles, there’s a lot of history we really don’t know. … So we are being educated,” she said.
