VANCOUVER, British Columbia—Shen Yun Performing Arts continued its Vancouver run on Sunday afternoon, thrilling audiences with Chinese dance, legend, and music. The 80-city tour will be at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre until April 8.

“I believe the show was really amazing. The dancer’s movement is really different. I always compare my Korean music and dance to Chinese music. It’s totally different. I really liked the colors of the dancer’s costumes. It was very beautiful,“ said small business owner Ms. Kim.

The brightly coloured flowing costumes worn by the dancers are an audience favorite and add a visual element to the show.

Mr. Smith, a retired banker from White Rock, was also impressed with the dancer’s costumes.

“Very nice costumes and good music.” he said

The New York-based Shen Yun is bringing to life the essence of China’s traditional values and culture, something that has largely been lost in mainland China since the advent of communism to China. Many of China’s diverse ethnicities are represented in the show through folk tales and legends told by dance and song.

“I was very impressed, and I really enjoyed it, because it was very thorough, and it reviewed all of the various cultures within China.” said tradeshow producer Ms. Savard.

“I learned a lot, and I just realized how big China is. It’s certainly pleasurable. I really liked all the introductions, it gave me a good idea of what to expect. I’d recommend it. I really liked all of the costuming,” she said.

After completing its seven-show run in Vancouver from April 3 to April 8, Shen Yun will perform in Calgary, Edmonton, and Regina.
