LODZ, Poland—The second Shen Yun Performing Arts show won enthusiastic applause from the audience on March 28. Normally, a matinée performance in Poland does not draw a large crowd, and any audience members and theater staff expressed surprise that the show was sold-out on Saturday.
Many Chinese, most of them from Warsaw, came to see the show. Mr. Wei, a physicist, was in the audience. He had been among the first group of Chinese who went abroad in 1988 after Chinese were allowed to study outside of China.
For 20 years, Mr. Wei had not wanted to go back to China. He worked in the university and later started his own company. He shared his impressions of the performance and how Shen Yun’s message relates to China.
Shen Yun Speaks for the Chinese
“The performance is superb. You cannot see shows like this in China. In traditional culture, people believe in and revere gods. Because the communists are in power, they have destroyed Chinese culture. That is the reason why I have not wanted to go back to China for many years, because everything has been so unreasonable.
“After I saw Shen Yun today, my anguish of many decades was released, and I feel so good. Shen Yun has spoken for all of us, spoken what is deep down in my heart. The show is fantastic!
“I admire the performers and the organizers for their courage. They are brave enough to stand up to disclose the brutality of the Chinese Communist Party. And that is so precious! I cannot do that yet. I just want to be someone who understands and acts properly and not be an accomplice. But I am not brave enough to stand up to it, and one needs to have a huge amount of virtue and courage in order to do that.”
Shen Yun Is Cleansing This World
“I am left with the deepest impression of Shen Yun’s message: Chinese culture is divinely inspired. In the past, all human beings believed in divine beings, who controlled the world.
“Now, the communists practice dictatorship, and most people are atheists, and that is wrong. The enlightened beings will not permit this to continue and will cleanse off the dirt. I believe that Shen Yun is doing the cleansing work—cleansing this world.”
Knowing the Truth
“At the end of the show, the words on the backdrop are ‘Knowing the True Picture Offers Ultimate Hope.’ I feel that it is very important that people know the truth. Every time, when I met a kind Chinese, I would explain to them the true nature of the Communist Party. So many young people today have no idea of our past history. They do not know how the communists killed the rich, whole villages, a whole county, and it was so horrible.
“Actually, the Chinese Communist Party has never stopped persecuting people. For example, the persecution of Falun Gong is the continuation of the persecution of landlords, capitalists, and intellectuals.
“I believe that human beings should follow gods’ will. And that is the right path and will not lead us astray. I think that Shen Yun will bring great changes to China, and from the birth of Shen Yun, I see hope for China.”
