NEW YORK—The Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company performance at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center on Jan. 14 greatly impressed a member of the audience.

“It was the first time that I’ve seen it,” said Jared Garrick, a retired accountant who had his own accounting firm. “I would come back and see it again, it was very enjoyable; it’s very beautiful.”

Classical Chinese dance and folk dance is central to Shen Yun performances, and each act plays out with a live orchestra comprised of classical Western and Chinese instruments. Operatic singing pieces are also a part of the show.

“It was the highest I’ve seen,” said Mr. Garrick of the artistic value of the performance.

“It was very well coordinated; I was very impressed with the dancers, their grace, and particularly the singers, they were outstanding, outstanding.”

Mr. Garrick repeated again that he thought the solo singers were “outstanding,” adding that he also enjoyed the show’s vibrant colors.

“I would like to see it again next year,” he said. “I would highly recommend it to anybody!”
