TAICHUNG, Taiwan—Yunlin County Council Member Jan Cifang attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s March 27 performance in Taichung.
Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, and Ms. Cifang expressed her opinion behind its success.
“The overall performance left me delighted and soothed,” she said. “I feel it is the main reason why Shen Yun pulls in a full house to every performance. It gives the audience something to anticipate.”
Ms. Cifang had also seen the performance last year.
“I got a different experience from that of last year because it is an all-new program. When I watched it last year, I found it very good, a masterful presentation of atmosphere and feelings, as well as the rhythm of the dance, embedded with creativity.”
She said, “I enjoyed the dance Cloud Maidens. I get the feeling of being weightless and drifting. The dancers’ movements appear weightless, on a cloud-covered floor. With the fog gradually disappearing, the performers are seen to drift with the breeze.”
She commented on the skill displayed by the female dancers in Manchurian Elegance, where the dancers perform on delicate platform shoes. “I think it must be very challenging for dancers to undergo such training and to present a performance in the shoes. I can see Shen Yun’s efforts and devotion.”
“Such an excellent performance can never be described in a brief sentence. It must be personally experienced. I am looking forward to the next performance, wondering what the program will be like next year,” she said.
