Shen Yun: ‘It’s important to cherish old cultures’
Suzy Mekhdjian and her daugther Sabrina Koundakjian, a Youtube celebrity, enjoyed the Shen Yun performance at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto on Jan. 4, 2018. “I thought [the costumes] were really colorful,” said Sabrina, who creates videos about beauty and fashion. “I love the flowy ... the different pieces. It was really like it fit with each dance and each song. It flowed really nicely." (The Epoch Times)

“It was fantastic. I was the one who did the research and wanted to bring her [my daughter] over to see something different. ...You don’t see this very often, and I think they visit once a year. We wanted to grab the opportunity to come and see it.”

“We were involved in cultural things. We used to have a gallery. ... We used to do art shows with famous artists like Trisha Romance and James Lumbers, and Canadian artists mostly. .... I’m really interested in art as a whole.”

“[Shen Yun is] colorful, beautiful, mesmerizing, especially in wintertime when you see everything covered by snow you like to come and enjoy this vibrant atmosphere.”

“It’s important to cherish old cultures. They have to work toward preserving it even though we’re bombarded with new ideas, and new modern ideas, and technology, but that doesn’t mean that we have to forget about the past.”
