DALLAS—The Music Hall at Fair Park offered Texans a chance to see Shen Yun Performing Arts this Saturday evening, Feb. 6. The New York-based Shen Yun revives traditional Chinese culture by presenting classical Chinese dance around the world.

Attending the show were Matthew and Deanna Soltis. Mr. Soltis is Executive Director of Asian Real Estate Association of America, and he gave a speech at the VIP reception after the show, expressing appreciation that the company, with its “beautiful women, beautiful songs, and wonderful, wonderful people had come to Dallas.”

He also expressed sorrow that some of their friends were afraid to come to the show because they feared the “threat” of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

After his speech he and his wife talked about the show. Mr. Soltis described it: “Oh, fantastic show.”

Mrs. Soltis added, “So beautiful!”

Mr. Soltis said that he and his wife felt it was “well done; very professionally done.”

He added, “The MC was great, both of them were great; …they did an excellent job of presenting what is happening in their world, in their culture.”

Mrs. Soltis remarked, “There’s a very diversified audience too, which was so great. It was really neat to see how many different people were here.”

They talked with other members of the audience and found that three people came from New Jersey to see the show. They were originally from the Dominican Republic and they had seen Shen Yun in New York. He felt that a lot of the people who came to the show were all here for the same purpose: “to enjoy the cultural observations that could be made in a venue ... like this—It’s fantastic.”

He concluded by saying that it is sad when people don’t come because they fear for their families.

Shen Yun has three dance companies and three orchestras. While one company performs 10 shows in Los Angeles, the other Shen Yun companies will be performing in Worcester, Mass., Dallas, Springfield, Ill., St. Louis, and New York.
