CHICAGO—With only three shows left on its 10-day tour in Chicago, Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company continues to impress audience members with its classical Chinese dance and music performances.

Father and son enjoyed the evening together on April 22 at the historic Civic Opera House watching 5,000 years of Chinese history unfold.

Erik Bertrand, software consultant, said, “I thought it was great. Kind of surprising; we didn’t really know what to expect. It was a good surprise.”

His father, Leonard Bertrand, who has a fine arts degree from Michigan State, and has been a teacher, said, “Well done! The choreography is really wonderful and the colors are out of this world. I love the special effects with the screen in the background. It’s really unique; I’ve never seen that before.”
