CANBERRA, Australia—At the second show in Australia, Shen Yun Performing Arts presents another beautiful celebration of traditional Chinese culture as part of the 2009 World Tour.

Local couple, Fred and Pamela, thought the show reflects the way Australia has a strong multi-culturalism that we can all take part in.

“The show was very colourful,” said Pamela.

“I think people should come and see this show to learn something of the culture of other groups who are in the community,” Fred said, talking about the many different ethnic groups in Australia.

They both agree that it is important to learn more about Chinese culture, particularly since it is very historical and rich, being over 5,000 years old.

Fred feels that it is important for the Chinese to rediscover and strengthen their ancient roots to maintain their cultural identitiy.

Being a self-professed singer, Fred especially came to see the world renowned vocalists, two tenors and one contralto.

“Being a bit of a singer myself, I reckon the singers are absolutely wonderful. I especially came to hear the man and the lady sing,” he said.

All singers—Yuan Qu, Jiansheng Yang, and Jianing Xu sang in Mandarin, but having subtitles appear on the backdrop meant that everyone could understand the profound meaning of the songs.

Both Fred and Pamela have experienced other Chinese dance before, but think that what they saw at the Shen Yun show was a more striking example in terms of quality.
