CANBERRA, Australia—A former diplomat, Mr. Harper, and his wife, Mrs. Harper, came to see Shen Yun Performing Arts with great interest on March 30, having spent much time in China. The Canberra Theatre came alive with the sights and sounds of ancient China.
"We loved the show. But the scenery, the clothing, the movements, the way they glide across the stage … just beautiful," said Mr. Harper.
Mrs. Harper noted the detail in the 3-D backdrops and the stunning costumes.
"I loved the costumes. When they swirl around and you see all the colours come in, and one of them looked just like a lotus leaf floating around the stage. And I love the way that they move across the stage, and their hand movements. Really beautiful," she said.
The breathtaking digital backdrops at each Shen Yun show bring classical Chinese dance into the 21st century, giving each scene an added visual depth and grandeur. Each backdrop is custom-designed to match a given dance’s costumes, story line, lighting, and even choreography.
This couple left the foyer of the Canberra Theatre delighted by what they had seen. "It’s simply wonderful," they said.
