ST. LOUIS—Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage of the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis on Feb 15.

Patrick Browne, who works for Anheuser-Busch, attended the performance with Debra Rosenfeld, first vice president at SunTrust Mortgage.

“I would love to bring my family to this next year,” Mr. Browne said. “Marvelous job. I was really impressed with the production. The dances are excellent—everything was just fantastic.”

“A Shen Yun performance features the world’s foremost classically trained dancers, a unique orchestra blending East and West, and dazzling animated backdrops—together creating one spectacular performance,” reads the Shen Yun website.

With its handmade costumes and digital backdrops, “It’s very incredibly visual,” added Ms. Rosenfeld.

“So I love the colors, and I love the scenery,” she added. “And I love the interaction with the scenery. I thought that was really cool. And I just thought it was magnificently done. It was beautiful.”

Each year, Shen Yun travels the globe, delivering the very best of Chinese culture, which has been nearly destroyed after 60 years of communist rule. Campaign after campaign led by the communist regime has aimed at “bringing traditional 5,000 years of civilization to the brink of extinction,” according to Shen Yun’s website.

Ms. Rosenfeld said that she would recommend the performance to her friends interested in art and culture. “I would tell them that it’s very worth-while as well as visually entertaining,” she said.

“I had a real sense of serenity throughout the whole show,” Mr. Browne said. “The music was just very calming, and it was just a really wonderful experience. I just enjoyed the whole show, the entire show.”

He concluded by saying, “It was the most marvelous excursion into Chinese culture.”
