Senator Tony Avella Presents Proclamation to Shen Yun on Behalf of NY Senate

January 12, 2017

“I am so very happy to present a special proclamation from the New York State Senate for Shen Yun performance here at the 11th anniversary.

“As you can see the people behind me and the people to the side of me are anxiously awaiting this performance. It’s a wonderful thing for people in New York City to see the traditional Chinese Culture of music and dance, and I’m to happy to be here and to celebrate that on behalf of the New York State Senate.”
“It’s a great thing, that it started here [New York], and I know that people around the country and around the world, when they see the performance, really enjoy it and that’s why there’s always a sold-out performance.”
“It’s an amazing performance and I know everybody who is here tonight is going to really enjoy it, and probably come back again and again.”
“I think it’s very important for people to see what China is really about, what the people are about, and not necessarily what the [Chinese] government is about. Government is one thing, but the people are something special and I think that the performances show that and give New Yorkers a real insight to Chinese tradition and culture.”
