PARIS—The New York–based Divine Performing Arts (DPA) company continues to the stages of Europe’s finest theatres, opening in France at the Palais de Congres des Paris. Mr. Louis, a sales manager for an international airline, was very enthusiastic upon leaving the theater, “I loved it very much! It combined traditional Chinese culture and great modernity.

“There is always, in one’s background, a call for the sublime, to things [divine]; which really is something very profound.”

Mr. Louis went on to add that even though he felt, “Very close to Asian culture,” he did not know as much about it as he would have liked to. “Not enough, it was very interesting these references to past times and the spirituality we should apply to be in connection with harmony.”

He said he found it difficult to choose any one performance as his favorite. “It’s really a mix of all, you know? The dances that reflect modern times are quite interesting, but also the entire performance—and all China’s legends are very interesting to me.”

‘Chinese legends were intermingled with modern stories unfolding in China today’

Another audience member, Ms. Amalric, shared that she was also very pleased to have seen the show, “I loved it! I enjoyed it very much! The colors, their costumes, the dance, and specially the [spiritual] philosophy! The Buddhist philosophy.

“I really enjoy the idea of reincarnation and coming back. I thought that the whole show was very immediate and could be easily understood by the public. The entire way of presenting it, the stories were very clear. It was nothing that’s too intellectual, too high to understand, that all people can’t really be touch by it. It touched my heart, very much, in all my senses.”

Ms. Amalric said that she enjoyed the way ancient Chinese legends were intermingled with modern stories unfolding in China today. “I though it was very good, very good—the mixture of the classics with the modern stories. So close to the reality of China also. They were able to put it all together!”

‘We´ve really seen the land of [traditional] China here’

Mr. Elmaleh, who works as a lawyer in Paris, and his wife, Mrs. Elmaleh, were very excited after seeing DPA for the first time. “This show was good!  No. ... It was very good! It was beautiful. Marvelous! It was magnificent.

“We´ve really seen the land of [traditional] China here.

“We also know about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China.”
