Latin American classical guitar mastery; fast, frenetic, firey and definitely funky. Rodrigo y Gabriella have metal music in the marrow of their bones, classical guitars in their hands, the harmonic sophistication of jazz, the precision of flamenco, and a percussion hand influenced by Irish folk. 11:11 pays homage to inspirational musicians past and present, from Hendrix and Santana to Spanish guitar legend Paco De Lucia. On ‘Atman’ the electric guitar of Alex Skolnick from metal gods Testament soars and screams through the crescendo, on an otherwise acoustic album. Exquisite, authentic, and audacious.
