ROCHESTER, N.Y.—It was a beautiful afternoon in the Flower City on Saturday as Divine Performing Arts (DPA) charmed audience members with a spectacular Chinese cultural show.
With a standing ovation and two curtain calls, Rochester audience members extended a warm welcome to the performing arts company.
“The visuals were amazing,” said Mr. John, a Rochester-based entrepreneur who owns a television production company. “The choreography was unreal.”
“It’s a great message,” he added.
Mr. John, whose company creates TV commercials and infomercials, was very impressed by the show’s digital backdrop.
“It’s just perfect. It really draws you in—it really made you focus on everything and really made you take in the whole entire show,” he said. “It’s as if there’s no one else there. It’s just you and the performers, and that’s it.”
The backdrops, custom-designed by Divine Performing Arts to perfectly match the dancers’ costumes, story lines, lighting, and choreography add depth and grandeur to each scene.
“It’s a hard thing to achieve, and they definitely pulled it off.
“They did wonders—the choreography and everything. It’s a great show,” he said.
Mr. John particularly expressed his admiration for the music.
“Unreal. The singers were just beautiful,” he said.
Acclaimed by audiences and critics around the world, the vocal soloists of DPA are elite singers who perform throughout the year on many of the world’s greatest stages.
As for his favorite dance, Mr. John couldn’t make up his mind.
“All of them. You can’t take away one piece from the other piece. They’re a really nice mesh all together. You really can’t go wrong with it. It’s a great show.
“It’s a wonderful show. It’s too bad it’s over. I’ll have to come back later tonight and catch the later show.
“I look forward to next year as well,” added Mr. John.
