The bust of Queen Nefertiti of Egypt was uncovered 99 years ago by a German archeologist on the banks of the Nile in Egypt and became part of the permanent collection of the “Neues Museum” (New Museum) in Berlin, Germany. Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities has demanded repeatedly, including this year, that Germany return the 3,400-year-old painted limestone bust, but the German Ministry of Culture is unwilling to grant the request.
