NEW YORK—Among the many people from the business sector who attended the first Divine Performing Arts (DPA) show in Brooklyn were Mr. and Mrs. Win, a public relations executive and a researcher, respectively. They brought their daughter to the show.

“The singing, the dancing was wonderful,” Mr. Win said. “The special effects were really good.”

The special effects Mr. Win was referring to were the digital backdrops that added to the scenery of the performances.

But for the couple, one of the singers stood out most of all. “I liked the tenor at the end, he was really good,” Mr. Win said.

Mrs. Win agreed, “… everything was very good, but the tenor, his music ... was really very good.”

They were referring to Mr. Tian Ge, the tenor who sang Cosmic Renewal and King of Falun.

Cosmic Renewal was a song that carried the positive message of finding a spiritual path. A sampling of the song had the lines:

“Today our hearts rejoice,
Today our spirits awaken.”

She added that the whole show was excellent. “But everybody did an excellent job, it was very good.”

The family had heard about the show from Costco, where an agent for the show was selling tickets.

Mrs. Win also said, “[It] really touched me. We learned about … Chinese culture, and we really liked the way they presented it. The dances, the music, and it was very good.”

Mrs. Win then turned to her daughter and asked her, “What did you like about the show?” Answering for her daughter, she continued, “She liked the costumes the very best.”
