BOSTON—The beautifully restored Wang Theatre inside Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center became the perfect venue for the city’s professionals and intellectuals to see Shen Yun Performing Arts on Feb. 13. The Epoch Times spoke with a lawyer, a retired educator and a health care executive about the show. All of them praised the Shen Yun Touring Company.
It was the first time David Jordan saw Shen Yun. He is an executive in the health care field, with a background in politics. He served as chief of staff for a Massachusetts state senator, and now leads a national project to expand access to dental care. He said one reason he wanted to come was to gain more knowledge and appreciation of Chinese culture, presented in the U.S. Shen Yun is based in New York, and many of its company members were born in or grew up in the West.
“Oh, it’s thrilling! It’s magical in that it combines athleticism and dance and song. It’s very vibrant, very uplifting,” he said. He did learn something and meet his goal of coming to appreciate Chinese culture a little more, he said.
Richard Canzano and his wife, Gail Canzano, lawyer and retired educator, respectively, attended Sunday’s performance of Shen Yun. He said they will definitely recommend this “wonderful show” to others.
“We live here in town and at the spur of the moment we decided to take in the show. We are extremely pleased with the performance and the cultural aspect. We learned something about the culture,” Mr. Canazano said.
