A couple of Shen Yun’s dances tell stories based on the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) in China today. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) realized that the number of people practicing Falun Gong—with its tenets of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance—surpassed the Party’s membership, the CCP launched a campaign in 1999 to wipe out the practice by any means.
