Park Avenue Café is closing on Jan. 1, 2014 because it lost its lease at 100 East 63rd Street .

The restaurant’s website reads: “Park Avenue Summer (Autumn, Winter, Spring) is moving in 2014 but before we invite you to our new home, we wanted to celebrate one last summer at 100 East 63rd Street with you.”

Father and son duo, Alan and Michael Stillman told dining critic Gael Greene the news.

The Post House, high-end steak house on East 61st Street, managed for decades by Stillman, is closing as well in August.

The Post House stopped serving lunch a few weeks ago.

“It could be two months or five months, or, we don’t know it could be forever,” Stillman told Greene.

Stillman said Park Avenue Café lost their lease once in 2007, but negotiated an agreement with the co-op board that was suppose to last through 2016.

He said he was not sure why the lease expires now, but he and his son are actively looking for a new spot in midtown to move The Park Avenue Café.
