Oil Painting Exhibition, Competition Comes to Salmagundi

Salmagundi Club will be hosting New Tang Dynasty Television’s figure painting competition next week. Beginning Sunday, the Fifth Ave. gallery will feature 42 works from the finalists of the Chinese International Figure Painting Competition.

The annual contest is open to Chinese and Chinese descendants from across the globe. Like other competitions in New Tang Dynasty TV’s (NTDTV’s) competition series, the event works toward the purpose of bringing together artistic talent from the international Chinese community. NTDTV also holds competitions in the following arenas: vocal, Classical Chinese dance, piano, violin, Han couture design, Chinese culinary arts, photography, and martial arts.

The Exhibition runs Nov. 29th to Dec. 5th at Salmagundi Club,47 Fifth Ave.

Following the exhibition are an awards ceremony and master class on Friday, Dec. 4 and an activity workshop on the final day. Visitors to the gallery will have the chance to participate in a character sketch, an auction hosted by Salmagundi, and a banquet.
