New Tang Dynasty TV’s (NTDTV) 2009 Global Chinese Competition Series are just around the corner. According to the Competition Organizing Committee chair, Ms. Ma Lijuan, the goal of the competitions is to restore China’s traditions and promote compassion and beauty in classical and artistic forms inherited from Chinese culture.

The series of competitions are classical Chinese dance, vocal, violin, Han couture, Chinese culinary, traditional Chinese martial arts, figure painting, and photography.

World’s Excitement and Debut

Ma Lijuan explains, “The NTDTV’s annual competition is an unprecedented historical event for the global Chinese community. The series conducted in the previous two years have attracted and brought together many talented international Chinese artists. Many of them are also elite awardees from international and mainland events. NTDTV’s Global Chinese Competition Series has demonstrated leadership in conducting world class competition events for the Chinese community with a high caliber and standard contest with an advanced scope and expertise in participants, and positive feedback and impact from participants. They also establish the role of NTDTV’s global competitions in restoring authentic tradition and classical arts.

Ma says the competition has won the recognition of experts in various fields. This year, its popularity has drawn many enthusiastic entries. NTDTV welcomes many more professionals to nourish an even better and more mature world event.

Restoring and Reviving the Classic Traditions

According to Ma, “The main purpose of NTDTV hosting the series of competitions is to restore tradition and revive culture in all practices. The goal is clearly defined in NTDTV’s Competitions Rules.

“Chinese culture extends throughout history and is a tangible treasure to both Chinese and the world. Modern Chinese society, however, as a result of replacing the traditional Chinese spirit with a deteriorated manner, is losing its traditional spirit and becoming a void. This is a worrisome and sad.” This has prompted NTDTV’s desire to resume the traditions and revive the classics, paving the path to restore the inherited traditional Chinese culture, as explained by Ma.

Ma further indicates the competitions have been a successful name-brand and entitlement for many awardees from the past to gain recognition in their fields of expertise. The success of previous two years has had a positive impact on restoring and promoting traditional culture. Many contestants after returning back to their hometown and country have all voluntarily become messengers and promoters for NTDTV’s competitions and goals. Some even recommend participating professionals.

According to Ma, all contestants, participants, supporters, and audiences are the driving forces of its success and have all contributed to this grand NTDTV project.
