How would you react if you thought your partner  was doing drugs? Would you confront him or her, and ask for a “please explain” ... or call the cops? In this case, a concerned husband went running to the cops. But boy, was he in for a surprise—a nasty one.

A man from Wyoming, Minnesota, decided to rifle through his wife’s purse. He broke a golden rule—never encroach on sacred ground, a woman’s handbag being at the top of the list of “No Trespassing.”

Although he had committed a sin in the eyes of most women, he didn’t stop there. Oh no, he went for broke. He saw something that he assumed was illegal and went running off to the cops to report on his wife, saying she was doing drugs. You may be wondering, “What was he thinking?”

“Where is the evidence,” they probably asked him. Well, he produced it all right. It was a plastic bag sealed shut, and inside was a broken cocktail umbrella!

The cops from Wyoming police department probably had a hard time keeping straight faces, and were pleased to inform him that his wife didn’t have drugs in her purse. Indeed, it really was a broken drink decoration.

They took it to social media for a bit of fun.

But fun probably wouldn’t describe what this husband would be getting when he arrived home and had to explain his actions. More likely a month or so in the doghouse.

Clearly he had no idea what drugs looked like; maybe that was the only point in his favor. He took some convincing that what he had found in the wife’s purse was not drug-connected. Police even had to Google a photo of what a cocktail umbrella looked like!

Police wrote on social media, “No, we had to Google a picture of what a cocktail umbrella looks like not broken into pieces.” “With that being said, if you need help with substance abuse issues, please contact us & we’ll find resources. That does NOT mean jail time.”

With the big issues relating to trust exposed here, it might be time to call up Dr. Phil. He helps people to “get real,” and has plenty of strategies to put in place to help people. Dr. Phil could have some fun with this one.
