VANCOUVER, British Columbia—Lydia Liu, who graduated from a prestigious music institute in China, now a newcomer in Canada, attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour show at Queen Elizabeth Theatre on April 7.

“I am astounded, very touched, enlightened to many truths from the show, and my mind now feels unprecedentedly light and smooth.”

Mrs. Liu heard about the show last year and finally got to watch it this year. She said that only people who come to the show themselves can “experience such an astonishing sensation.

“Shen Yun displayed the authentic five-millennia-old Chinese traditional culture. It is very inspirational for modern people.”

She also praised choreography, backdrops, costumes, the inner meaning of the stories, and the live orchestra.

“Nothing in the show did not touch me. You cannot see such show in mainland China. The show itself brought such openness and emotional expression. My mind and heart feel unprecedentedly nice, relaxed, and compassionate.”

She said that the human rights abuse of Falun Gong practitioners in China, displayed by two of the Shen Yun programs, truly exist. Her colleague in China was arrested and persecuted for her belief in Falun Gong, yet Mrs. Liu described her as a diligent and hardworking good person.

Shen Yun will perform one more show in Vancouver on Wednesday before going on to Calgary, Edmonton, and Regina.
