RICHARDSON, Texas—On Feb. 2, Divine Performing Arts (DPA) made its Dallas debut on its tour at the Eisemann Center, winning the applause and acclaim of Eastern and Western audience members alike as they brought the spirit of the Chinese New Year to southern Texas.

David Ge, a software engineer at the Dallas Trade Station is originally from Wuhan City, China. He described the show as “wonderful” and said, “I really enjoyed the dances and the costumes, I feel that it is very high-class.”

Ge said, “I especially enjoyed the dances. The dances, costumes, and stories were full of the uniqueness of Chinese culture. It was a very colorful show with both traditional and modern choreography.”

“In the past, I had only known Chinese opera, which I didn’t particularly enjoy,” remarked Ge. “However, the DPA show combined traditional performing arts with modern backdrops which are realistic and beautiful. I never saw anything as beautiful as this in China.”

Ge also said that he felt Divine Performing Arts’ global tour would help people around the world learn about Chinese culture.

“DPA’s tour around the world will help more people to understand Chinese culture. In the modern person’s view, ancient Chinese culture seems to be simple and lacks relish. After I watched the show, however, I realized it was very great.”

“Ever since I was young, I’ve always favoured Western culture. But after watching this show, I realized how beautiful and unique Chinese culture is,” said Ge.
