Wine in the Loire Valley of France has a history of over 2,000 years, when Romans first planted vineyards in Nantes. Now the region features more than 60 appellations.

The Loire Valley Wines Restaurant Week takes place in New York from May 12 to May 18, giving diners a chance to try some of Loire’s varietals: Muscadet, Rosé de Loire, Chinon, Vouvray, Touraine, and Rosé d’Anjou. About 30 restaurants are currently participating. Lunch $20, dinner $30. For a full list, see  OpenTable.
