MILWAUKEE—“It is with great honor and esteem that I congratulate and salute the Shen Yun Performing Arts for their notable contributions throughout the world by creating experiences of the arts and reverence of Chinese culture,” wrote Senator Lena C. Taylor in her Letter of Welcome.

Continuing the Midwest leg of its 2011 tour, Shen Yun Performing Arts is set to grace the Marcus Center stage for two performances, Sunday, March 13.

State Senator Taylor said, “I am excited to welcome Shen Yun Performing Arts to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I congratulate you for the countless measures of time, energy, and effort applied in order to bring outstanding shows to audiences throughout the world and here in Milwaukee.”

Wherever Shen Yun performs, public officials at the federal, state, and local levels honor the New York-based company with proclamations and letters of welcome, congratulating and praising it. Wisconsin officials are no exception, and expressed their gratitude.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Brady wrote in his Letter of Welcome, “On behalf of the City of Milwaukee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Shen Yun Performing Arts. I commend the dancers, singers and instrumentalists of the world’s premiere Chinese dance and music company for providing Milwaukee with a rich cultural experience.”

Shen Yun presents exhilarating performances of classical Chinese dance, thrilling elected officials, community, and business leaders and members of the Wisconsin arts community.

The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee issued a Proclamation thanking the world-renowned show for returning to their city, calling it, “A rich meaningful, unforgettable cultural event.”

The city council further stated that, “Shen Yun focuses on the authentic, cultural heritage of classical China . . . reviving the artistic tradition of China and breathing new life into Chinese culture.”

United States Senator Ron Johnson shared his enthusiasm for the performances by saying, “Thank you for sharing your gift with Milwaukee again!”

In his Letter of Welcome, the senator said, “All who have occasion to experience the breadth and scope of this cultural experience, from the artists’ mastery of song and dance, to the beauty and wonder of the visual rendition of history and culture, are sure to be moved and uplifted.”
