Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler has been rumored to have taken over drumming duties for Slipknot after founding member Joey Jordison left the band in December. The band’s new track, “The Negative One,” channels the nu-metal sound that dominated Iowa and their self titled debut album.

Fans have noticed that a lot of the drum patterns on the track resemble Adler’s way of drumming. Other people have speculated the band incorporated computerized drums to compensate for Jordison’s absence.  In an interview with ABC News Radio, he said that: “You know, I listened to it and I thought it sounded a little bit like me, too,”  adding, “At the moment, I just don’t recall doing it.”

Adler mentions that he continues to receive texts, phone calls and e-mails but insist that he knows nothing about it. In the interview, he never bothered to confirm or deny the Slipknot rumors.

“Right now I think silence is golden.”  “Right now I don’t think those guys need me, or need me talking about it,” he said.
