PASADENA, Calif.—Elegance graced the historic Pasadena Civic Auditorium, showcase of the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour in Los Angeles, where many chose to spend their New Year’s Eve.

Epoch Times reporters at the show said from the crowded lobby during intermission, they talked “with some lovely people who enjoyed the show. Smiles were everywhere,” one reporter said.

Ms. Fe, a nurse, enthused over the quality of the show and the way Chinese myths and legends were brought into the world in a repertoire of song, music and dance taken from thousands of years of classical Chinese traditions.

“It’s great, I liked the costumes and dances—the dancers are so light on their feet, you can see their classical training.”

She had seen other Chinese shows, but they focused in acrobatics, unlike the incomparable beauty of the DPA performance, she said.

Mr. Wong, a marketing consultant, said, “Excellent show, I’m enjoying it very much. The colors and pageantry are lovely, I will recommend it to all my friends.”

Mr. De Jesus heard about the DPA show two years ago and had wanted to come since. China’s hinterland is home to dozens of distinctive ethnic groups.

“We are enjoying it a lot, the regional dances and history you weren’t aware of are wonderful. I will definitely recommend it to my friends,” he said.

His wife Lena acknowledged how “different” the show was. “I really wanted some of the music to take home with me. It’s (DPA) very colorful with talented storytelling, poignant and very spiritual. The best way to start the new year!”
