NEW YORK—A weekend of festivities takes place Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11–12, with the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America: “Local Flavor from Coast To Coast.” It’s a national traveling food festival touring 10 cities.

The culinary event will kick-off with an official benefit dinner at Tom Colicchio’s Riverpark on Friday, Oct. 11.

This special event, themed “The Artful Chef,” will link the worlds of fine art and cuisine, welcoming luminaries from the art industry to dine with our community’s brightest stars whose artistic talents are expressed through food.

Guests will enjoy a one-of-a-kind multi-course menu curated by Taste America All-Star Daniel Patterson (Coi; San Francisco), James Beard Award-winning New York City-based chefs Andrew Carmellini (The Dutch, Lafayette, and Locanda Verde), Alexandra Guarnaschelli (Butter Restaurant), and Brooks Headley (Del Posto), as well as the evening’s Host Chef Sisha Ortúzar (Riverpark).

The James Beard Foundation will donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to Wellness in the Schools.
