Fourth of July is upon us, and traditionally we consume all sorts of unhealthy foods in celebration of our nation’s freedom. Red, white, and blue colored foods are often a product of artificial coloring, especially the vibrantly colored desserts that everyone loves.

For those that are health conscious but want to be festive, here’s a fantastic recipe for you. The red white and blue popsicle looks great and is made with 100% natural ingredients! So have one…or five. It has nuts and fruits, is refreshingly delicious, and also patriotic. What more could you ask for?

INGREDIENTS –

2 cups cashews
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 cup strawberries
1 cup blueberries
1 banana

For the Base:
Blend cashew, almond milk, and maple syrup until smooth. Set aside.

Red Layer:
Pour 2/3 cup of base mixture into a blender. Add 1 cup STRAWBERRIES. Blend until smooth.

White Layer:
Pour 2/3 cup of base mixture into a blender. Add BANANA. Blend until smooth.

Blue Layer:
Pour 2/3 cup of base mixture into a blender. Add 1 cup BLUEBERRIES. Blend until smooth.

Layer the mixtures into your popsicle moulds, and freeze overnight. Enjoy!
