The 13-year-old is the first artist Degeneres has signed up to her eleveneleven record label, and already the talented teenager is a YouTube sensation.

Singing “Waiting Outside the Lines” onstage, Chance dazzles viewers with his giant smile and talented vocals, accompanying himself on the piano.

After the performance, the young artist talks to DeGeneres about another song on his upcoming album, written to cheer up victims of bullying and to help prevent teenage suicides.

“The song is called ‘Purple Sky,’ and it’s a song about how a normal sky is a blue sky,” Chance tells the talk-show host. “It’s saying that a purple sky is different, but it’s still beautiful in its own way, and it’s beautiful in an incredible way.”

Degeneres first discovered her protégé when she saw a video of him singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at a school talent night. She flew Chance to Los Angeles to sing on her show before making the deal with her first signee.

“Waiting Outside the Lines” is now available on iTunes.
