SAN FRANCISCO—Ms. Doran, an artist who does stained glass art, was amazed by the Shen Yun Performing Arts show at San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House on Wednesday evening, Jan. 6.

“I found the dancing and the choreography and everything was really very special, very good.

“What impressed me the most was the amount of time and effort the dancers, the choreography, and the people who had to have put this together have gone through. … If it’s only four years, it’s been a lot of work. And that’s very impressive—how hard everybody has to work and what dedication everybody has to make the show work. And that’s very impressive. It’s very impressive!”

Watching the show with the eyes of an artist, she said, “Unusual, very unusual, but very interesting. I’ll think about it for a very long time. It’s going to stay with me for a long time.”

She added, “It’s interesting—the imagery and the colors. I may have to do more reading about the imagery and the history that was portrayed here. Only then can I understand it better.” She said that she is going to read up on the background of the show.

Actor: ‘The dancing was superb’

Mr. Chew, an actor, was glad to have come to the show: “The show was very good, very impressive.” He said the digital backdrops were excellent.

“The dancing was superb, and the music was tremendous,“ he said. ”I am very happy.” The orchestra combines Eastern and Western instruments.

Mr. Chew will tell his friends not to miss the show: “I will tell them to come, as it is very different.” Before leaving, he said with a smile that this was the second time he saw the Shen Yun performance.
