TAINAN, Taiwan—Among the audience of the Shen Yun Performing Arts’ first performance in Tainan on the afternoon of April 13 were Wei Hongkun, general manager of Hua Chen International CO., LTD, and his parents. Mr. Wei said he thought that Shen Yun had great emotional force. He said, with a smile and an piercing gaze, “In the face of temptation of fame and profits, defamation from the evil, pure righteous thoughts and kindness can generate unrivaled power, even more than a match for a tsunami.”

“From the first dance When Kings Followed The Creator To The Earth to the concluding dance The Opening Of Heaven’s Gates there is a mutual echo,” said Mr. Wei. “Shen Yun is a world-class performance in the outer form of dance and singing. What particularly impressed me is, it conveys a feeling of being genuinely touched in a way the audience had never experienced before.”

Mr. Wei spoke of classical Chinese dance having a unique grace and beauty. He said: “Shen Yun depicts a simplified story through the form of dance. Divinity descends to the secular world, bringing along beautiful culture, blessings and merriment.” Several of the dances portray traditional Chinese tales, such as stories from Journey to the West.

“Though the plot involves persecution, I learn from it: Heaven informs us of one thing, a person with belief is strong-willed and capable of overcoming obstacles. Divinity entrusted humans with a crucial mission,” said Mr. Wei.
