TAIPEI, Taiwan—Former premier and one of the 2014 year-end New Taipei Special Municipality mayoral election hopefuls Yu Shyi-kun, along with his wife, attended the New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts in Taipei at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, on the evening of Feb. 25.
Mr. Yu expressed that the dances performed by Shen Yun’s International Company were really exquisite. He also praised Shen Yun’s successful demonstration of historic legends by synchronization of cultural arts and high-tech animated digital backdrops. He exclaimed, “It can be called a top international artistic performance.”
Shen Yun currently has four companies touring the world with a new lineup of programs every year. It will perform 329 shows in 95 cities in the five continents around the globe in 2014.
Mr. Yu said, “With the combination of the essence of Chinese history, culture, dance, modern high-tech as well as Oriental and Western (musical instruments), I think what has demonstrated is a very high level performance.” He was awed by the animated digital backdrops. He noted, “It’s amazing! Indeed, it can well be called a very good culture creation industry.”
Shen Yun includes Chinese culture such as historical legends regarding allegiance, filial piety, justice and righteousness in dance dramas, Mr. Yu said that it was great to see Shen Yun has used the Chinese many ethnic cultures as the bases to illustrate historic legends in the performance.
He added, “In terms of the dramas adapted from history, I think it’s meaningful to depict Falun Dafa’s spirit of pursuing truthfulness, compassion and tolerance through dances.”
The dance dramas are centered on the spirit that good and truth will always prevail over evil.
Mr. Yu suggested that as everyone is very busy nowadays, it’s great to take this opportunity to appreciate Shen Yun show because Shen Yun is a high quality show in terms of dance, music and the entire performance.
Everyone Should See Shen Yun at Least Once
Chairman of Chengda Wealth Management Consultant Company, Chen Yichun, said that Shen Yun faithfully depicted the graceful traditional Chinese culture in a very glamorous and spectacular manner.
Watching Shen Yun for the first time, Chairman Chen was in awe at Shen Yun’s strong cast. He exclaimed, “I feel it incredible that such a big group of performers even came all the way from New York to demonstrate ancient Chinese dance so wonderfully.
Shen Yun’s dances, performers’ movements and its accompaniments are very traditional. I feel it valuable as it’s hard to come by. It illustrates classical Chinese culture faithfully and extensively.”
“Every piece is very good. In addition to the application of high-tech (backdrops), the visual effect, the lighting and the music are also excellent.” “In such a grand performance, the audio and video effects cannot have any errors. So this kind of performance would have gone through detailed plan and arrangements.”
After seeing the performance, Mr. Chen expressed that he had a feeling of joyfulness. He exclaimed in admiration, “Why are they (Shen Yun artists) so dedicated? Why are there so many people including other staff members who would like to accomplish such as magnificent and grand show?”
“I think everybody should see it (Shen Yun show) at least once in his or her lifetime, so as to appreciate such an authentic traditional culture.
