A superb location and with the most intimate of atmospheres it is both relaxing and charming. Furhtmore, your stay in London includes a visit to Buckingham Palace, a bit traditional, but a must-see. Ready for something extra? Then head to the Royal Mews: without a doubt, one of the finest working stables in existence. You will see there the Glass State Coach and the 1902 State Landau, both of which were used on the journey from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace on the Royal wedding day.
If you have the time, also pay a visit to the magnificent home of the first Duke of Wellington, Apsley House, which is also known as “Number 1 London”. Inside you can see many aspects of the duke’s life, including his art collection. Works by Velazquez, Rubens, Van Dyck and Goya hang throughout the first floor, alongside fine porcelain, silver, sculpture, furniture and stunning interiors.
Private Carriage Ride
After a bit of London, it’s time to continue to Windsor, for a visit to Windsor Castle where you will also enjoy a private carriage ride around the castle park. And it’s not just a simple carriage: the 6-seater carriage was previously used by the Late Lt. Col. Sir John Miller, Her Majesty the Queen’s Equerry and horse-master for 26 years. Voilà!
Following Windsor, your next destination is Edinburgh, where you will stay at the stunning Balmoral Hotel, a luxury hotel in the true sense of the word (with a great Michelin starred restaurant!).
Before checking-in, you can first pay a visit to the former Royal Yacht Britannia. The magnificent State Apartments and Sun Deck are just great…
The Scottish Crown Jewels
Furthermore, a visit to Edinburgh Castle is on the programme, known as the “Jewel in Scotland’s Crown”. You will see there the beautiful and small St Margaret’s Chapel, the oldest part dating back to the 13th century, and of course the Honours of Scotland, the Scottish Crown Jewels. Also a must-see in Edinburgh: the fine baroque Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Residence of HM, The Queen and The Royal Family in Scotland.
Is there more on the programma? Oh yes… a tour to Scone Palace, home of the Earls of Mansfield and known as the “Crowning Place of Scottish Kings”; a visit to Scotland’s oldest distillery dating back to 1703; a stop at St Andrews (the home of golf); Glamis Castle, the ancestral home of the Strathmore family for over 600 years but perhaps best known as the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth and so much more.
