Former President Donald Trump has asked for a new trial or a change in verdict in the E. Jean Carroll case on grounds of alleged errors made by the judge.

His attorneys argued that post-trial motions would likely ’substantially' reduce the final judgment, and he would suffer irreparable harm without the stay.

The former president’s campaign funds covered many legal expenses in January as the court battles continued.

The former president’s legal expenses account for about 73 percent of the about $65.4 million in total disbursements Save America made in 2023.

‘The Court was overtly hostile towards defense counsel and President Trump, and displayed preferential treatment towards Plaintiff’s counsel,’ his lawyer said.

Ms. Carroll is seeking $10 million in damages.

It’s just one of many legal battles President Trump is confronting as the presidential campaign season intensifies.

The trial will now proceed in January even while President Trump seeks immediate review from the Supreme Court, which could later stall the case.

The former president’s attorneys signaled that they could still avoid trial by petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court.
