SAN DIEGO—The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company thrilled the audience in San Diego Civic Theater on Saturday evening, Dec. 27. One couple felt the performances both touched and inspired them.

Thomas said the performances were very inspiring and contained messages of morality for all humanity. He explained: “I think they were right on the money with [the importance of] truth because there is too much convoluted information in the world.”

He stressed that we “have to get back to the basics of morality in society.” In this way, he felt the show was “very inspiring ... always hope, there is always hope.”

Thomas works in finance and loved every performance, however his favorite one was Welcoming Spring.

Sarah loves working for a non-profit organization. She appreciated the many nuances in the performances. She said, “I loved it, it was beautiful. Very gorgeous dancing, gorgeous costumes, really enjoyable. We love the theater.”

“I loved the music,” she continued. Sarah appreciated the tenors for the beauty and power of their voices. She enjoyed the drums, the cherry blossom spring dance [Welcoming Spring] She especially noted ones with “the little Buddhas coming down. That was a great one. I loved that one.”

She also stressed the message of the show. “Compassion and truth, ... are good principles, that’s definitely universal—a universal message for sure.”

Sarah and Thomas were saddened to learn about the persecution of Falun Gong: [The piece about Falun Gong] made us cry, it is so sad,” Sarah shared.

“We got a little teary-eyed,” Thomas agreed, because the persecution is happening now.
“I don’t think maybe half the people in here understood it before they saw it on stage,” he claimed.

“I think educating people about the situation is a really good idea,“ Sarah added. ”I think the more that people know about it the less they will be willing to put up with it and watch it happen.”

Both would “definitely” come see the show again.

San Diego will host its final show for this season at 4:00pm Dec. 28.
