TAIPEI, Taiwan—Ke Chiliang, Chief Secretary of Council for Cultural Affairs, was in the full-house audience of the last Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour show at Taipei International Convention Center on March 2.

He said that he was surprised to see a full house on a weekday.

“The dances were very authentic, and the gestures were truly very graceful. They were dancing in unison and fully manifested physical beauty. I think they grasped the essence of dance,” said Mr. Ke, former National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and Principal of Kuo Kuang Opera School.

The program, Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution, particularly touched Mr. Ke.

“Seeing a happy family being persecuted—some people’s conduct is just beyond reason, unjustified, and inhumane.”

Another program, where there was a monk heading West to obtain Buddhist scriptures [The Monkey King Triumphs], inspired him.

“When a person can be firm in one’s belief and attentively completes one’s dream, then that person can definitely succeed.

“For one to have a beautiful life, one needs to have an optimistic mindset, belief, or dream.”
