TAIPEI, Taiwan—After watching the Divine Performing Arts’ (DPA) second show in Taipei on Feb. 26, Mr. Fu Daren, a well-known TV sports anchor, praised the DPA show highly. He said that judging from the program in the first half of the show, “The rhythm, choreography, and dancers’ talents and skills were excellent.”
“Chinese culture is very profound, with a long glorious history, and Chinese people’s creativity is number one in the world,” Fu continued. As a veteran TV anchor who has reported eight Olympic Games, Fu said, “I was told that they [ the DPA dancers] were overseas Chinese. I think it is not easy to achieve such a high-level accomplishment after being trained overseas. They are really wonderful, amazing.
“They seem to present [Chinese] history beginning with the Yellow Emperor. Chinese history is unique, with a long history.” He also mentioned that the history was passed down to us generation to generation. Dynasties have been changed since the Yellow Emperor until now, so we have the relationship between the two sides of the Taiwan Straights.”
When seeing the International Convention Center packed with so many people, while the entire world is being hit by the global financial crisis, Mr. Fu commented, “It is really not easy. It proves that the Republic of China’s [Taiwan'] cultural standard is quite good. Wonderful shows will still be appreciated by many people.” When knowing that DPA’s shows in other countries around the world are also very popular, he said, “Good things will never be ignored.”
