TAIPEI, Taiwan—Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company graced the stage of Taipei International Convention Center on Feb. 26, enthralling another full-house audience. Among them was Liao Chaosiang, founder and president of Pate Female Lions Club International, a volunteer organization.

Lions Club International is an international network of 1.3 million members in 205 regions according to the official website. The “lions” are involved in a variety of projects significant to their communities, from cleaning up parks to providing supplies to victims of natural disasters.

“Actually, I was trying to buy tickets a few days ago and there were none. So I feel so fortunate to be here now. I got a ticket at the theater just now. Before, when I was staying in the United States, I knew about DPA’s fame around the world,” said Ms. Liao.

“I hope the whole world can come to see [the show] that represents Chinese [culture] and let the world know that Chinese arts are the arts that display truthfulness, compassion, and beauty. There were not only beautiful movements, but also Buddha’s truth. ...

“Also the couture, music, and dance—the blend manifested truthfulness, compassion, and beauty. It was so beautiful, so splendid. I will never forget DPA. Every program transcended an international level, particularly the descending immortal fairies [The Poet’s Vision] made me feel like I was floating. Also the Buddhas’ guidance, backdrops, and vocalists were all impressive.”

She said that in today’s financial crisis, nearly everyone is suffering from pain. She hopes that DPA can bring them good fortune and blessing.

“I feel very lucky to see such a beautiful [presentation of] culture before me. When I bought my ticket today I also invited two other ladies of the club. I will certainly promote this show and let all my friends and family know about it. I am very grateful for this.”
