TAINAN, Taiwan—Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company put on its third performance on Feb. 21. The Tainan Municipal Cultural Center was once again filled with an audience that came to enjoy the DPA 2009 World Tour.

There were many from the Kaohsiung County Cai Wun Elementary School who came to watch the show. The principal, Li Tiancai, said that it was the third time that DPA had come to Taiwan, and this time many of the teachers from the school brought their students and family members to watch the show.

Ms. Li said the program that left the deepest impression on her was the scene where the father is persecuted to death and later gods come down [from Heaven] to save him [Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution]. The dance shows that divine beings offer salvation to mankind with great compassion.

She added that DPA presents a form of traditional dance that portrays the kindness of gods, and this changes the hearts of audience members for the better.

“I’ve always asked that all teachers, students, and our school’s dance group to make the most of this opportunity to come to the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center and watch DPA for themselves. That is, of all the shows that I ever watched, the most beautiful and most profound.”

Another audience member, Siao Siaoling, a dance teacher, came all the way from Kaohsiung to attend the show. She found the whole DPA show to be very fascinating, with a high artistic level, and [demonstrated the] amazing qualities of the dancers. She said that in DPA’s performances the dance and the choreography are excellent. The background music’s profundity also shows the strong foundation of the composers.

Ms. Siao is the instructor for classes for gifted and honored students in some of Kaohsiung’s elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools. Also, she was the teacher for the Song Jiangchen, who went to Los Angeles last May to perform.

DPA International Company will be performing in Kaohsiung from March 13 to 17. Ms. Siao says her sister works there, and she has already told her to go watch the show.
