TAINAN, Taiwan—After watching the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) show on Feb. 23 in Tainan, Chang Sucyong, Dean of Tainan National Cheng Kung University’s College of Biology said that she admired how the backdrops and the dances were well-integrated and naturally “displayed the realm of divine beings” where heaven and man combined as one. It’s not that easy. She stressed that if one believed in gods, then the path of life would be rather relaxing without much pursuit.

Referring to the program The Poet’s Vision, Ms. Chang said, “Just now when Li Bai was writing his poem, the fairies flew in and inspired his writing, and he quickly finished that poem. The dancing [of the fairies] enlightened him to the imagery of his poem and also ignited his inspiration.

“The performers’ dances were very graceful. The dance steps, the foundation, and their hand gestures were all very nice. They fully expressed beauty and flexibility, giving a flowing sensation. It was very beautiful, very beautiful.”

Ms. Chang is also a professor and department head of human science. She analyzes the nutritional values of foods, and her papers have been published in international jpurnals.

Upon watching the show, Ms. Chang said, “With belief, you can live more lightly, namely, gods will guide you, and you can get into a state without pursuits.”
