TAICHUNG, Taiwan—Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company staged its second show in Taichung on March 5. At the Hui-Sun Auditorium was Chang Shumei, a renowned Taiwanese artist. She said that the performance was “astounding to the heart.”

Ms. Chang is also an art professor at the National Taichung University. She has studied dance and choreographed and taught dance for five decades. As a dance professional, she particularly noted the movements of DPA performers.

She said that the gestures were uniquely designed, the music suited the dances’ atmosphere, the costumes were made with dedication, and the colors and headdresses were matched “perfectly.”

Ms. Chang has been to Xinjiang and Tibet to see their folk dances. Based on memory, she opened an art exhibition in Taiwan called “flower dance.” She said that DPA was completely different. Upon watching such a “perfect” show, she received inspiration for her work.

“It was very wonderful. I think I am very fortunate to see such a flawless show.”
