SAN DIEGO—Wayne Lee, a NASA scientist who was a chief engineer in charge of entry, descent, and landing for NASA’s Mars Exploration Rovers project in 2004, found the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) show to be “interesting, colorful, and very vivid” after watching the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) show held at San Diego’s Civic Theater on Friday, Dec. 26.
He was most impressed with the choreography and skill of the dancers. “Yes, I think it was very well done.”

Though an ethnic Chinese, Mr. Lee wasn’t raised in a Chinese cultural environment as his parents had been, so he does not read Chinese language nor is he familiar with all aspects of Chinese traditions. Yet he found that the appreciation for art forms transcends the environment from which one grows up in. He commented, “Art is something everyone can enjoy no matter what your background.”

“I think that reading the lyrics and watching what’s going on the stage its, its very well connected, I don’t think you have to be able to read the Chinese to appreciate the art form.”

“The appreciation of art is something that everybody can enjoy no matter what your training, profession, or background.”

Divine Performing Arts will perform three more shows over the weekend
