PHILADELPHIA—The movements alone spoke volumes for Burmese-born Aung Kyaw who attended the Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour held at Merriam Theater in Philadelphia.

“Without saying a word, they [the performers] showed everything, told everything with just the movements. That’s a phenomena,” he said. “I liked that part. And the music was great too. Without saying anything … they tell the words with their movements. That’s what I liked about it.”

Mr. Kyaw traveled from Maryland to see the show, and said he learned much more about the topics depicted in it, including Buddhism, the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and daily life in ancient China.

Of a Burmese spiritual upbringing, Mr. Kyaw said: “We believe the same thing—we believe in the Buddha coming back and teaching us, and all kinds of stuff. You know, at the very beginning of the show when the Buddha came out and blessed the show? It’s the same thing in Burma.”

He said he felt so good after the show that he would spread encourage his friends to go and see it.
