PASADENA, Calif.—A local couple were among the audience who were enthralled by the final performance of The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 4 as part of their 2009 World Tour.

Olivia, a Chinese actress, loved the traditional Chinese Classical dancing, the beautiful flowing movements. She explained, “The long sleeves, I think it’s very traditional and it reminds me very much of home.”

Olivia was invited to the performance by her friend Mr. Snyder, a writer. He felt it was an amazing performance with a strong message, a re-creation of traditions. He explained, “I thought it was a very exciting performance and I thought it was a very important show with a strong message. The message that I got was the importance of maintaining culture primarily, and respect for people. I write poetry so the part about the poet was pretty fun. I thought it was interesting and I appreciated the traditional aspects of it. It sounded like they were trying to recreate their costumes in an accurate way. I think that’s really great.”

Olivia summed up the performance in three words, “Spectacular, traditional, Eastern.”
